Services.app for Iphone - Disable Edge, Turn ON/OFF bluetooth, WiFi and SSH

Services.app - Disable Edge, Turn Off Bluetooth, Wifi, and SSH

This Application is used for easy accessing to the different running services for the iphone such as Wifi, Bluetooth, EDGE, Calling, and SSH.

Currently the Application only supports turning on/off Edge, Bluetooth, Wifi, and OpenSSH.

Requirements
In order for this to all work, your system must have BSD Subsystem installed or at least the BSD/Unix tools grep, launchctl, sh/zsh/some shell, and ifconfig.

Installation
Install through Installer.app, how simple could it be, or to do it manually; copy the unzipped Services.app to /Applications and chmod 755 as usual.

If anyone has some suggestions for things that would also be nice to control from Services, let me know.

Download Here Services.app

  1. This is a very useful app, as the Iphone seems to use over 50kb a day without you knowing. Every day I check the usage log and it uses well over my free data quota, and I get charged for data I am not intentionally using (Rip-off merchants)

I have ver 1.1.2 that has had the manual edge settings removed from the Network options. I am on 02 UK and it seems that they must be making
Millions of ££ out of people that are on the normal 100kb a month free data quota as you can easily go over that quota in a day without using any data features.

  2. I'm not in North America, and EDGE isn't even available where I live, so the pop-up warning is definitely annoying.

I've installed BSD Subsystem 2.0, and then had Services.app v0.6.7 installed as well. But when I switch the EDGE off in Services, it seems to go through a reset of the phone functions (have to re-enter my SIM card PIN) and then it claims to have shut it off. Yet, when I exit Services (back to Home) and run anything else (Safari, G Maps, etc.), the pop-up warnings still come. Then I go into Services again, and that EDGE slider is back to On.

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong, or another setting/permission I can check? Thanks!

    (Oh -- it's a 1.1.2 OOTB, 4.6BL, 4.02.13_G baseband, but upped to 1.1.3 firmware.)

  4. PS: when you go back into services it enables Edge again. But when you disable it, it is 100% off. This app will not help you as the app is still looking for a connection.
